What can the Indian IT sector do to help?
IT companies are currently wary of the war between Russia and Ukraine’s long-term consequences. All of the major brands have stated their commitment to maintaining high levels of service delivery while also supporting the employees who have been affected by the conflict.
The top priority is to provide personal and professional support to Ukrainian employees while ensuring that services are delivered on time. Firms with a European presence, for example, can establish offshore delivery centres in and around Ukraine to absorb workers displaced by the conflict. They can also collaborate with Ukrainian vendors to develop safe alternative product transport and delivery channels to maintain business continuity.
From a humanitarian standpoint, much can be done, including providing financial assistance to displaced workers and emergency supplies to employees, service partners, and their families currently residing in Ukraine.
While things are difficult right now, it is hoped that the fighting will end soon. When it comes to business decisions like acquisitions or hires, caution is advised. As a result, the focus should be on utilising the sector’s substantial resources to assist all those affected directly or indirectly by the Ukraine crisis.
